The ultimate exercise equipment for any person looking to workout and get in shape is a chin up bar. This simple exercise equipment is not only space saving, it is also the best exercise equipment to own. Chin up bars are low cost, low maintenance, and can be used by anyone no matter what your currently fitness level is.
Chin up bars are typically a solid metal piece that includes a base, two metal bars placed in a vertical direction with a metal bar fixed horizontally across the top of the two vertical bars. You use them by holding the top bar with your hands and the pull your body up as far as you can. The goal is to be able to pull yourself up to where your chin is level to the top vertical bar.
Some sports stores now carry a more practical version to the classic chin up bar. It is a bar that is situated in between the frame of your doorway. You then pull yourself up using your arms just as you do with the classic chin up bar.
Doing chin ups allows you to build up muscles in your arms, chest, and back. Even if you can not currently lift your body all the way up, as you progress you will find yourself able to lift your body higher and higher.
Other exercises can be done using a chin up bar too. With the classic version, a person can hang from the top bar by their legs and pull their bodies up. This form of crunches, or sit ups, not only tones and straightens your abdominal muscles it also strengthens your leg muscles and your buttocks as well.
People who have considerably higher fitness levels can even work on pulling their bodies up using only one arm at a time. This will help to further increase your upper body strength. Or a person can even use ankle weights to add extra weight to their bodies as they are doing their chin up exercises.
It is a known fact that by exercising and eating healthy you will be in better shape. People who are more fit are also sick less often. By using a chin up bar and doing the different exercises on the equipment, you are working your way to achieving your optimum fitness levels and helping yourself avoid unnecessary sickness.
