We all look for ways of staying in shape and improving the quality of our life by eating healthy and working-out. Sometimes you have to be creative and challenge yourself, to keep your work-out interesting and fresh, so you want give-up the benefits of being physically fit. It tends to be a daunting task disciplining yourself to maintain an exercise regimen. If you don’t have a workout partner to encourage you to stay active then you have to find ways to motivate yourself. With the right tools and mind-set you can accomplish getting and staying in shape. One of the best ways to get yourself in the groove of working-out is an outdoor activity, you get plenty of fresh air which gives you stamina the sounds of nature can be uplifting. There are no distractions from working-out in front of the TV, since you will be outside. You don’t have to dread running into anyone at the gym that wants to stand around and talk while you are trying to get on the Treadmill. You can be self-efficient and find clever ways to shape-up in your own backyard.

Don’t go out and purchase an expensive piece of equipment which we tend to do, guarantee to whip you into shape in no time. It’s just a matter of time before you get bored with it and it becomes your new clothes rack or even joining the newest aerobic workout class that promises to knock five inches off your mid-section in a short amount of time. Sometimes it’s just the simple things we do to stay fit which becomes more effective then the latest exercise craze. We have to learn how to have fun, never put high expectations on yourself when it comes to your work-out. When it feels like you are doing work that you are not getting paid for or a chore that’s when we are ready to stop exercising, you have to find what works for you.

Now getting back to what I said previous about the great out-doors. When you are in your own comfort zone it compels you to stay on track and here is away to do that. Installing a pull up bar outside can be a great way of spicing up your workout routine. There are various exercises you can do on a pull up bar. Your option or not limited to just doing pull-ups, you can do muscle ups and chin-ups, you can also add gymnastic rings to the bar to give yourself a more intensified work-out with ring pull-ups. You can get a total body work-out. You’ll be doing exercises that I’m sure you will enjoy, while stimulating your metabolism to burn calories. This will take you back to being a kid again having fun outside swinging on the monkey bars for hours, with-out a care in the world. It’s a simple yet effective way of staying in-shape. Especially for those of us who have a busy and hectic life, and not able to invest a great deal of time sculpting our bodies. You will need different types of equipment, to work on different parts of the body. A pull up bar can work on every part of the body yielding the results you desire, that’s why it’s a valuable piece of equipment to have. It’s not necessary to purchase an expensive pull up bar. There are some in-expensive ones you can purchase or you can be handy and create your own pull up bar and get the desired height that suits you. Take a trip to your local hardware store and purchase the supplies you need to do-it-yourself. Someone there will have the knowledge to assist you on your outdoor pull up bar project.

Here are some suggestions, but you may be able to come-up with a better idea, how you would like your pull up bar set-up, this is just to get your started. You will need a medal pipe maybe six feet long, two 2x4 pieces of wood choose the height you wish to obtain and cement. Drill holes on each side of the 2x4s. You will need to dig holes in the ground two to three feet deep and about four feet apart depending on the length of the pipe. Set your post in cement and allow drying time. Then slide the pole into the hole through the two 2x4 posts and secure pole. You can try other solutions if you rather it was portable. This can be a fun project you will be on the road to optimizing a healthier you. If you have kids you may consider installing a smaller pull up bar for them, it can be loads of fun. Giving our kids the opportunity to be more physically active and encouraging them to have more outdoor play is very important, rather than working-out their hands playing video games.

The action of pulling your body-weight up, called the pull up or the chin up, is one of the most beneficial upper body exercises around currently. This simple exercise builds the chest, shoulders, and many other aspects of the upper body in a simple and efficient manner. There are many types of machines that can be used as an aid for this, as well as removable bars that can be installed over a door frame to help an individual workout from home.

The free standing pull up bar comes in two varieties and are considered more useful overall than the door frame using variants due to the greater amount of space for exercising and the ability to perform the exercises of choice without having to bend the knees. The two varieties of free-standing pull up bars are the simple tower and the power assisted mechanical tower.

Free Standing Pull Up Bars: Simple Tower.

The simple tower is a device that is comprised of two major components. Those components are a pull up bar and two poles or beams for that pole to rest between. Everything else about this unit can change. There can be entrenched permanent versions that are bolted to the floor or cemented into place outside. There can also be collapsible structures that have runners for stability on the bottom. Both of these types can also come in an adjustable version that allows the height of the bar to shift.

There are companies that make or will build free standing pull up bars on your behalf but they are fairly simple to construct as well. All that you would need is two well secured free standing poles and a bar attached at an appropriate height between them.

Pros :

This is the simpler of the two pull up bars to install and the most cost effective. There are many exercises, including abdominal related ones, that can be performed depending on the height and length of the bar.

Cons :

This is a simple pull up bar style to install and it is cheaper, however, what you see is what you get. Unless you decide to wear weighted clothes or put a springboard underneath all of the exercises will be solely dependent upon your body weight to perform them.

For individuals with weaker upper body strength there may be little advance in pull up skill due to being unable to actually perform one repetition. This is a good bar to use for people who can already do pull ups or for those who have someone to spot them, otherwise it could be an exercise in frustration.

Free Standing Pull Up Bars: Mechanical Assisted.

Power, or mechanically assisted, free standing pull up bars are often called towers. These devices generally include several different handgrips of various shapes, sizes, and direction, as well as a set of parallel bars for doing dips. The weight varies for each machine, but generally won't be more than three hundred pounds due to the unlikely nature that an individual over this weight will be able to perform a pull up. For large athletes in excess of this weight there are custom made models as well as larger machines that also have reverse force mechanics that actually mimic a minor increase in the user’s weight. Generally this latter version simply requires a set of special boots that attached to the standing point of the machine.

Pros :

This type of device allows for a much greater variety in exercises as well as the fact that they usually come with dip bars as well. With the variable weight resistance settings you can effectively lower your weight so that even individuals with a lack upper body strength can perform repetitions of each exercise at a level that lets them work hard but would not be impossible.

You can normally move this tower around readily and it has a professional gym quality look that will add to the placebo effect in a work out. This will cause you to work out more because you'll feel like it counts as such.

Cons :

Free standing pull up bars of this type can be rather cramped for heavy set individuals and some may not be able to use them at all. Cables can last a long time but sometimes they snap due to poor quality of manufacture. It is important to purchase a reliable model from a respected company. Further, while the capacity to set your weight as something other than your actual body weight is useful for those who need to work at a lower setting to build their endurance and strength initially, this can actually retard the growth of muscle in some individuals due to a lack of effort when it comes to decreasing the weight resistance and forcing yourself to work harder.

Conclusion

Free standing pull up bars come in two basic forms and allow for a much greater freedom of exercise types than their door frame variant cousins. They often require a little more effort in setting up, or in actual use, but they offer far too many advantages to ignore.

The p90x Pull Up Bar is a specially designed metal bar that fits into any normal doorframe in your house. The bars are foam covered for safe gripping and the easily attached chin pull up can hold a 300 pound person or less. The only requirement is that your doorway has a wooden trim since the p90x Pull Up Bar is mounted on clips that are screwed to the top of the doorway over the frame. The p90x Pull Up Bar comes with an installation guide and is basically easy to use on a framed doorway.

Designed to be used for both pull ups and chin ups, the bar lets you choose your grip from 12 possible positions. The bar has to be assembled but can be out of the box and in use in minutes. The exercises that are suggested for a complete workout using the p90x Pull Up Bar can make it your own at- home gym. The workout of exercises that are possible with the Bar are Wide Front Pull Ups, Reverse Grip Chin Ups, Close Grip Overhand Pull Ups, Switch Grip Pull Ups, Corn Cob Pull Ups. The p90x Pull Up Bar comes with information and step by step instructions on how to accomplish those exercises.

The product manufacturers claim that the workout given using the bar is the best possible to build strength and endurance in your shoulders, back, abs, arms and neck. It is supposedly a total workout of your upper body muscles. The basic bar sells for under $60 but there are accessories that can be ordered to increase the usability of the basic bar.
The p90x Training System is a workout for the bar following CD instructions. The CD's sell for under $120.

There are many other accessories that can be ordered but the simplest way to take full advantage of the p90x Pull Up Bar is to buy the entire kit that sells for under $240. The start up kit includes not only the bar but the instructional DVD, a fitness guide, a daily calendar, and a nutritional 3 phase regiment.

The bar works on the principle of resistance instead of weight to build up your upper muscles. An accessory is the p90x special package that comes with 3 sturdy bands of differing resistance based on weight. You get a 30 pound, a 40 pound and a 50 pound resistance band. This accessory also comes with a set of handles that can be used between the bands.

The total gym workout would not be complete without a nutritonal supplement to restore what your workout will take out. Regardless of how good your physical fitness is or how targeted to your muscle development needs an exercise program is, if you do not take into consideration your bodies nutritional needs, you will not get the best possible results that you can expect with a proper nutritional supplement -- with or without a pull up workout.

The p90x Recovery Formula is a nutritional supplement that is specally formulated to restore the nutrients your body requires to build muscle and keep your energy at optimum levels. This nutritional supplement is sold to keep you going fully charged nutritionally for 30 days.

The p90x is a registered trademark of extreme home fitness products. The products available from this line include heart monitors, energy bars, various resistance handles that can attach to your bar and many other accessories. For those interested in building their upper muscles in the privacy of their own homes, the p90x Pull Up Bar is the easiest and the most inclusive system. The instructional DVD's and simple installation makes it a program for even the beginner in upper body muscle building aspirations to want to own and use.

Just what are kipping pull-ups? What is a Kipping Pull-Up bar? Are they beneficial? Kipping pull-ups are also known as “Hip Snap” pull-ups and “Crossfit” style pull-ups.

The Kipping pull-up bar technique provides great cardiovascular workout. This technique compared to a “traditional” pull-up is like a pull-up on steroids. Your upper torso along with the lower half receives a powerful workout. It is also a good way to build muscle strength. This technique has been very useful in building upper strength. It has been known to give a full-body exhaustion.

At first glance, the workout can look a bit unusual. The jumping, swinging and kicking. It can look a bit scary. But, the truth is, the “kipping” type pullup has been around awhile. The more “traditional” pull up, controlled, upward, downward movements are commonly seen in the gyms, on TV, etc.
However, the kipping pull- up bar technique gives the body a great full body workout. It provides a great way to increase the amount of repetition needed to achieve one’s goal.

The kipping pull-up bar technique can be performed on any type of pull up bar. However, it does appear that the technique does require coordination .The technique uses rhythm and momentum. Using this technique requires a great use of the shoulders and hips. So, a little practice won’t hurt you. As a matter of fact, some professionals suggest that you obtain a fitness professional to ensure that you are doing the technique correctly and safely.

The Kipping pull-up bar technique is thought to provide a more comprehensive workout when compared to other types of pull up methods. The swinging motion has many benefits. It helps give you a stronger grip on the bar. Instead of pulling up from a deadhang, the kipping pull-up technique allows your body to work up your heart rate by the swinging motion. Also, the swinging helps loosen up your shoulder muscles. A deadhang pull-up does not provide such.

Now the question . . . Is one version of pull-ups better than the other? That question is still under debate. Some professionals say this method is a “cheating” pull-up; allowing one to perform many pull-ups with out upper strength. Others say deadhang pull-ups are useless. You are not able to get your heart rate up compared to Kipping.

But it seems that most professionals agree that they are both beneficial to achieve your goal. As with any type of workout technique, it’s benefit is in the eye of the beholder. However, most athletes choose the Kipping method because they feel they received a complete workout.

However, there are other benefits the Kipping technique. If you are slightly overweight, the Kipping pull-up bar method may be your next best friend. Why? It allows you to build upper strength and get your heart rate up; which aides in weight loss. That is very important to obtaining a beneficial workout. Whether a person is thin or overweight, a healthy heart is very important. A healthy routine that includes giving your body a complete workout will put on the road to success. The Kipping pull-bar technique allows you to transfer power from hip to extremity. This technique enables you to have a stronger, healthier, toned body.

The Kipping Pull-Bar Technique

•	Grab the pull up bar. Swing your legs back and forth to give yourself a little momentum, kicking your feet back and forth.
•	As you kick your feet back and forth, move your upper torso up and down, lifting your chin upward toward the pull up bar.
•	Use the momentum to help you achieve a more intense workout.

But, so often, you get a piece of equipment and it turns out that you don't use it quite as often as you had intended. Eventually, your treadmill becomes a clothing rack and the stair stepper confounds you with the space it's taking up. But hope is not lost...you need a more simple tool that helps you generate the results you desire. What you've been looking for is none other than a pull up bar.

In your childhood, you could go to the playground and find the monkey bars, and have some fun exercising with them all you wanted to. Growing up, though, you outgrew the bars, and there is very little that you can find to recover such an easy and effective exercise for your chest and back muscles. In comes the humble pull up bar. With a simple and sturdy construction, storage is easy, and usage is even easier.

Unless you opt for a permanent installation, most pull up bars attach to the top of a door frame, needing nothing but your own body weight to provide leverage to keep it in place. It can be set to any height to suit your own needs, and is completely non-damaging to your home. Extensive padding on the touch points where it hugs the wall keep this handy tool from leaving so much as a mark.

To use a pull up bar, simply hook the top around to touch the top of the door frame opposite to where you intend to exercise. Pull the remainder of the bar to touch the door frame on your side, stabilizing it with constant light pressure. When you exercise, find a grip that feels comfortable to you, whether you prefer your hands in a narrow, shoulder width, or wider grip.

Also, you work different muscle groups with an overhand grip versus an underhand, so make sure to try them both. Once you are satisfied with your grip, raise your body without swinging your legs until your chin or the back of your neck touches the bar.

Slowly let your body lower back to the start position, and you've completed a repetition, or 'rep.' Be sure to decide how many reps you wish to perform with each set, and for best results and a good muscle workout, do your best to complete at least three full sets. The most common set is composed of anywhere between eight to fifteen reps.

Even as great as the ease of use is, there is always cost to consider. Fortunately, buying a pull up bar doesn't mean that you are purchasing what will be nothing more than an expensive clothing rack. The reason? Pull up bars are some of the least costly exercise tools you will ever come across.

The upper class of the pull up bar is around $80, with these models allowing for complete control of the workout you desire. The more cheap pull up bars still give an effective workout, for an amazing $25, well worth the money even without looking at the $800-1400 you might spend on a treadmill.

When it comes to exercise, you don't need high tech gadgets to contort your abs into a pretzel. Your body knows what it needs to be powerful. People get in shape with push ups and sit ups, two of the most basic exercises possible, without any tools at all. Unfortunately, suspended bars are rarely found by themselves, however we may fondly remember the monkey bars of our childhood. By getting a pull up bar, you reclaim that slice of playground fitness in the comfort of your own home.

Ignore the Fat-Blaster and the Muscle-Cruncher commercials you see on television, you can get healthy with simple motions and workouts like you perform on your pull up bar. With some dedication and a healthy dose of willpower, you'll be able to watch your resolutions come through to reveal a stronger, slimmer you.

Working out at home has become a very popular health concept in the last few years. People that find they do not have the time to go to a gym, or the emotional strength related to poor body image that would allow them to suffer such places, are finding inventive ways and equipment that they can use to work out from home more effectively. One of the best exercises around for the upper body and abdominal areas involves the use of a pull up bar, also known as a chin up bar.

There are many types of pull up bar in existence but they all come in three specific varieties. These varieties are removable door fame pull up bars, permanently attached pull up bars, and free-standing tower pull up bars.

Removable Doorway Frame Pull Up Bars

This style of exercise equipment is designed to fit over and around a door frame and it is held in place by the weight of the one using it. These can vary slightly in appearance but generally resemble something like a truck's deer guard or a bike rack. They are usually constructed with a curved set of bars that are pressed against the wall above a door frame by the weight of your body when doing pull ups.

There are several brands of these removable doorway pull up bars such as Beach Body's P90X system which also comes with a DVD and exercise guide. The Door Gym, a popular and lower budget model, and the Universal Door Mount Pull-up Bar, a more expensive model that has many different mounting styles and is welded together for maximum strength and durability, are both popular models as well.

The best thing about purchasing a removable door frame pull up bar is that it is in fact removable. You can use it at will then take it down and store it. This allows for maximum user satisfaction even if it does come with one downside. You must make certain to use a door frame that is sturdy enough to carry the weight of the bar and the one using it. The door frame must also be in a length that the bar will fit. These length specifications will vary by the manufacturer of the bar and they will answer any questions regarding this usually.

Permanently Attached Pull Up Bars

Permanently attached pull up bars are a version that require them to be bolted to either a door frame or some kind of open area with two parallel poles. These can be self created, such as attached mounting brackets to a door frame and a simple bar. There are also popular permanently attached systems that can be installed in your home or personal home gym.

The most popular of these systems are the Altus Athletic ADCUB Deluxe Chin Up Bar, the GoFit Chin-Up Bar, and Everlast offers a few other models that have similar capacity. The general rule of thumb for the manufacture of these bars is that they include padded grips and two sets of attaching bolts and mounts. This allows for variable grips and in the case of those that have extra mounts the bar can be installed for use in more than one door, preferably one with a different sized door space so that you can get both wide hand and close hand grips.

The most often cited reason individuals will go with cheap pull up bars is financial. These bars are a great deal cheaper than most removable bar systems and they still perform the same function. To further lessen the cost these are quite easy to make yourself and all it requires is a few bolts, some mounting brackets, and a bar that you can tape up for personal use.

Free-Standing Tower Pull Up Bars

Free-standing tower pull up bars are generally used in outdoor settings and offer one thing that neither of the door frame oriented types mentioned previously have. A free-standing tower will usually have far more room to move around and if appropriately sized it will not require the exerciser to lift their legs.

These pull up towers are the kind that most people see athletes, the military, and some weight rooms or gyms using. They are simple to construct and are an easy addition to any outdoor area. Those who have a home with enough space can make them indoors as well, but an outdoor or garage area would be the perfect place to put this.

The best feature of a free-standing tower is the space factor. These can allow for a much wider range of motion and let you work your abdominal area better due to the free space.

There are some systems on the market you might consider such as the mechanical ones that involve weight assistance and usually include a dip bar. These are excellent and can help someone who does not have much upper body strength develop the ability to do pull ups slowly over time.

Non-mechanical versions either require them to be cemented to the ground or runners on the bottom to balance the bar so that it doesn't turn over with you as you pull up. This type of pull up bar tower can be built easily using a few pipes and a welder, or some logs, a metal pipe, a set of hole diggers, some wood screws with washers, a drill, and a bag of cement.

If you simply wish to build it out of fitted pipes then attach sturdy runner pipes at the bottom to balance the poles and make certain it is installed on level ground.

The health conscious world we find ourselves in today is a place where people are trying to get up and get fit. One of the best exercises that can be done for increasing upper body strength is the simple action of pulling your body up. There are generally many places that this can be done for free such as parks and other recreational areas.

However, installing a pull up bar in your home or apartment will be even better because now it is easily accessed any time you may like to use it. The simplest method for buying a pull up bar is to find a suitable length of metal rod at a hardware store and install it in your home in some fashion.

Beyond that simple method there are actual pull up machines, and easy access and installation pull up bar systems that people can buy and install on their door frames. One of the best pull up bars to go with is the free standing tower.

Free standing towers that are properly secured allow you to have a full range of motion without having to bend your knees. They also grant more room for doing optional abdominal exercises. Free standing pull up towers cost a little more, even if you build them yourself but they can take care of the space and durability requirements that your door frame will not allow for.

If you desire to purchase an easy system that can be attached quickly to a door then removed then the perfect pull up works pretty well if your door frame meets the requirements and can support your weight. You do not want to spend money on a pull up system that does not fit the space you have requested for it.

At any rate the most important thing is to get as much information about any specific system for pull up bars that you can. There are several good tactics for this.

Tactic One

This tactic requires you to go to a sporting goods store in person and search through the products they have their. Take the measurements for your door or the space you wish to put a tower in, whichever is applicable, when you go. Determine the needs of each particular product and ask questions to the store staff as they may have some knowledge in the area.

If any of the pull up bars are currently out on display and the store allows you to try them out then this would be a good time to give that a try.

Every product will have its strong and weak points. If you don't wish to purchase anything without further information then just view this as a scouting trip and return home to check the internet for positive and negative reviews of each pull up bar or tower you are considering. Use these, plus any information you gained from the store staff, to further weed down the many various products out on the market.

Tactic Two

This tactic involves building your own personally designed pull up bar. This can be done in two different styles. You can bolt it to the wall or between some rafters in your house. If bolting it down or finding a similar way to secure a simple bar is not to your liking you could build your own pull up bar tower.

To bolt a bar to the wall all that is required will be a solid wall or other place to secure the bar, two screw-in bar holders, and a bar. The bar holders can be anything you like that will be sturdy enough to hold the combined weight of you and your bar while performing strenuous exercise.

A bar holder needs to have a way to secure the bar to it so that it does not slip or roll as you use it. The best holders will have a metal loop on the end that is of a proper size for the far to fight tightly inside of. This will lessen slippage and the rest of that problem can be solved by using spring clamps that can be opened by squeezing them. These can be perfectly placed to hold a bar tight on either side of the holder. If the clamps do not meet your needs then it may be necessary to weld the bar in place to make it a perfectly tight set up.

A free standing tower will require a sturdy base that will not rock when you pull yourself up. Some people dig a pit, pour in concrete and install tower poles before welding on the bar. This is a very useful method for a permanent residence, however if you do not own your residence or plan to move any time in the future then using running poles as a steady base and another set as tower poles will work just as well. The best part is that if you use screw bolts to hold the poles together then you can remove those bolts later and take the tower down for transport.

Pull ups and chin ups are a great form of exercise. Doing these exercises can help you build muscle in your forearms, biceps, triceps, chest, and back. Now, you can do these exercises from the comfort of your own home, with out the expense of going to the gym.

There are three basic types of different pull up bars; stand alone, mounted, and removeable. Each has their different advantages and drawbacks; it all depends on what your specific needs are. There are 2 types of pull up bars that fit into your door way and one that can be placed anywhere.

Stand alone type pull up bars are made up of several parts that allow you to disassemble it and move it whereever you want. You can place this pull up bar assembly either inside your home or outside. However, if you are planning on placing it outside, be sure that it is equiped to withstand the weather.

Mounted Pull up bars actually bolt into the door frame. They usually come with two sets of brackets so that you can move the bar to a higher or lower position. This type of bar is great if you have a home gym set up and you are not worried about having to move your set up.

Removeable pull up bars actually have bars that sit above and inside the door frame. It is held in place by your weight on the bar. There are also bars on the outside that pivot upward over the back of the door frame that allows the whole pull up bar to sit above the frame. The other part of the pull up bar fits through the frame and has bracing bars that press against the trim around the door. These types of pull up bars are great if you need to move your work out area, or if you don't want unsightly brackets in your doorways.

Pull ups can be a great form of exercise and now you can do them in your own home. With the basic types of different pull up bars it should be easy to find one that meets your needs. Whether you choose a stand alone, mounted, or removeable pull up bar; be sure to choose the one that best fits your lifestyle.

When it comes to losing belly fat fast many people turn to diet pills or diets they just can't keep up with or stick to. There are easier ways to lose that belly fat without dieting if you follow these tips you'll be able to lose that belly fat in no time.

Exercise is the first and best way to lose belly fat fast without having to diet. Not only does exercise help you to lose weight, it also helps you to build muscle depending on where you are focusing the most of your exercising and makes your metabolism higher which makes you less likely to snack on fatty foods. Try doing between 100 and 150 sit-ups per day. This will focus immediately on your mid section and help you to lose the fat fast. It will take about a week of doing this every day to see results, so don't give up if you don't see the results you want immediately.

Remember while exercising to be sure to drink plenty of fluids like water, milk or 100% fruit juice. Fat helps your body to absorb nutrients, so snacking on healthy foods like granola or dry fruit will help your body to lose the fat while keeping you full and less likely to snack on foods with fat in them.

Another way to lose the belly fat fast is by lifting weights. You will be building muscle in your arms, chest and abdominal area and helping to lose the belly fat fast.

Using an exercise ball allows you to lift and throw using your stomach muscles as well as your arms and legs when lifting the ball. Doing aerobics will also help you strengthen your abdominal muscles and get rid of the belly fat. When doing aerobics focus on moves that will tighten your stomach.

Other ways to lose the belly fat without dieting is doing Yoga, which helps to stretch out your abdominal muscles. Using a rowing machine allows you to apply the workout directly to the abdominal area and will help to lose the belly fat fast without dieting.

Looking for a challenge? Pull up bars are a great way to work out when you want to build up your muscles—and sculpt them, too. Looking for a V-shape in your back? It’s time to use the pull-up bar. Of course, that V-shape won’t come easily—it will take some time.

Arm muscles, both biceps and forearms, can be increased by taking advantage of the pull up bars. Using a variety of different exercises will help increase the mass and shape of your arms. Simply turn your hands around to grip the bar differently, and change how far apart your hands are. This small alteration will affect how much each arm muscle is exercised.

Using the pull up bars to work the abdominal muscles is also one the great benefits that many people choose this simple piece of equipment for. Think about it—as you pull up you will feel your arms working, and your abdominal muscles pulling in, crunching tightly together. What’s the benefit? A good solid start on your core muscles as well as that six-pack that you’ve been yearning for.

Use a pike position to get your legs up in the air, and hold it, and then slowly bring your legs back down—feel the burn, and the muscles work! Start from a squat position, and jump up to the bar, pulling into a chin up. Then let yourself back down, and repeat the whole motion until you complete your set of reps. There is an overall burn, and the workout for your back is tremendous.

Incorporate a large rubber band—literally tie it to the pull up bar, and keep it from meeting the ground. When you step into it, it should barely meet the ground, and you should be able to stretch your leg muscles, while grabbing at the pull up bar. Over time, the rubber band combined with the pull up bar will work those leg muscles, and give you a good workout. Step on and off, repeating as necessary.

So when you’re looking for a simple, easy way to burn fat and build muscle mass, you know where to look. Pull up bars are a great way to work out—building lean muscle strength, and they don’t take up much room, either.
